Claire & Adam

We're getting married! (Finally!)

26th March 2022

Welcome to our wedding website

After meeting at Burnley College ten years ago and Adam inviting himself over to watch Indiana Jones, we're getting married!

Instead of invitations, we'll be using this website to give you any and all the information you need. Hopefully, you can find everything that you need. You'll also be using this website to RSVP and input menu choices etc.

Neptunes fish and chips

When

25th March 2022, 18:00

Where

Neptunes fish and chip restaurant, 3 Seafield road, Seahouses, NE68 7SJ, United Kingdom

We'd love to enjoy some fish and chips the evening before our wedding, with any of you that would be available to join us.
If you'd like to join us, please let us know, we've pre-ordered so Neptune's can have our food ready prepared.

We've booked in, and they're expecting us all.

Wedding Ceremony

When

26th March 2022, 15:00 - 16:00

Where

Alnwick Treehouse, Denwick lane, Alnwick, NE66 1YU, United Kingdom

Obviously, it had to be the Treehouse!

A spectacular part of Alnwick gardens. One of Claire's favourite places and somewhere Adam has grown to love after being dragged there several times. It is the largest wooden treehouse in the world, and a beautiful setting for our wedding.

Time:
The ceremony starts at 3:30 pm please feel free to enjoy the Treehouse from 2:45pm and be in your seats by 3:10pm.
If you arrive early or have time to spare, we would highly recommend that you visit the main gardens (just don't walk through the fountains). Tickets can be booked on their website.

Dress code:
Semi formal and cocktail attire.
(Definitely no Leeds or Blackburn shirts).

The venue:
Details of how to find Alnwick Gardens can be found here: https://www.alnwickgarden.com/visit-us/find-us/ (if you can't see the Treehouse, better book in for that optician's appointment).

Parking:
There is parking at the gardens in their main car park. You can also leave your car overnight and it will be secure. But you must pick up your car the next morning.

Accessibility:
The Treehouse’s rope bridges and walkways are fully accessible by wheelchair. The upper level of the Treehouse (the Nest and the rooftop viewing point) is unfortunately not accessible to wheelchair users.

Reception and evening

When

26th March 2022, 16:00 - 00:00

Where

Alnwick Treehouse, Denwick lane, Alnwick, NE66 1YU, United Kingdom

Following the ceremony, the reception and evening celebrations will continue at the Treehouse.

Those of you with thin skin may like to bring a coat. The Treehouse has a roaring fire inside, but to fully appreciate its grandeur, a walk around the rope bridges and outside walkways are highly recommended.
You can also bring a blanket to keep cosy in the treehouse roost.

Travel, transport and accomodation

Alnwick sits at the side of the A1. The gardens are well signed and directions can be found here: https://www.alnwickgarden.com/visit-us/find-us/
Please be aware there are continuing roadworks on the A1 just past Newcastle. You will experience delays here to please allow ample time.
The nearest train station is Alnmouth, which is about 4 miles away.
From the station, you can get a bus or taxi to Alnwick and walk to the Treehouse.
Bus timetables can be found here:  https://www.arrivabus.co.uk/
Newcastle and Edinburgh are the nearest airports. You can get connecting metros/buses to the relevant train stations and then a taxi/bus to Alnwick Gardens.
Those of you that are more familiar with Northumberland will already have ideas of where to stay.
For those new to Alnwick, the town centre has plenty of hotels, airb&bs and holiday lets. Most of which will be within walking distance from Alnwick gardens.
If you'd like to stay further afield, Warkworth and Amble are approximately a ten-minute drive.
Seahouses and Bamburgh are also family favourite places and filled with places to stay. However, they are approximately half an hour from Alnwick.

Our gift list

We know that for most of you, a long journey and an overnight stay will be required to join us for our day. It is more important that we can share our celebrations with all of you and are therefore not asking for gifts.

If however, you'd like to give a gift we'd be extremely grateful for a gift of money to help us buy our own house. We know it's not the usual way gifts are done. But both of us are new in our job roles/companies and do not know when we'll have a house to fill with traditional gifts.

That being said we know some of you would like to get us a traditional gift, and so we've created a list of traditional and some less traditional gifts.
